Software Developer

*Position Overview*
We are seeking a Software Developer with 2+ years of professional experience to join our engineering team in Cincinnati. In this role, you will write and maintain production-grade code, build internal tools, develop RESTful APIs, and contribute to customer-facing web applications.
You will work within an established Agile development cycle alongside systems architects, QA analysts, and product managers to deliver scalable software solutions.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Write clean, maintainable, and modular code using modern object-oriented and functional programming practices.
* Develop, test, and document RESTful endpoints and microservices to integrate internal business logic with external services.
* Design relational database tables, construct optimized SQL queries, and manage indexing across PostgreSQL and MS SQL databases.
* Write automated unit and integration tests (using frameworks such as JUnit, pytest, or Mocha/Jest) to maintain code coverage in continuous integration pipelines.
* Investigate, profile, and fix defects, memory bottlenecks, and runtime exceptions across staging and production systems.
* Participate in sprint estimation, daily stand-ups, pull request reviews, and architecture discussions.
*Requirements*
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
* 2+ years of professional software development experience in a team environment
* Working proficiency in at least one core backend language (Java, C#, Python, or Go) and standard web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript)
* Practical understanding of relational database design, query optimization, and transaction management
* Experience with Git-based version control workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, and merge conflict resolution
* Strong grasp of standard data structures, algorithms, object-oriented principles, and HTTP/HTTPS network communication
* Clear technical communication skills and the ability to explain implementation trade-offs during team reviews
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Familiarity with containerization basics using Docker
* Hands-on experience or project exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP)
* Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
* Exposure to automated build and deployment pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
