SQL Data Analyst/Engineer
OverviewGovCIO is seeking Junior SQL Engineer will support the team in designing, developing, and maintaining database systems, ensuring data integrity and performance. This role is critical for managing growing data needs and supporting business intelligence initiatives. Leaving this seat open may impact reporting, data migration, and application performance. This position is located in Washington, DC and will be an onsite opportunity.ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing database structure and layoutCreate, implement, and manage new databasesDevelop, manage, and test back-end database applicationsWrite and optimize SQL statements for data access and retentionDebug and optimize SQL queries; ensure database performanceDocument processes for future reference and updatesTroubleshoot database performance issues and provide corrective measuresWork collaboratively with other developers and analystsSupport data migration, backup, and recovery tasksCreate visualizations and reports for requested projectsEnsure performance, security, and availability of databasesQualificationsHigh School with 3 - 6 years (or commensurate experience)Required Skills And ExperienceBasic proficiency in SQL and relational database conceptsFamiliarity with database management systems (e.g., MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)Understanding of database design, normalization, and indexingAnalytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and commitment to data accuracyEffective communication and teamwork skillsWillingness to learn and adapt to new technologiesCertifications (optional): Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate, IBM Certified Database Associate – DB2Clearance Required: Must be able to attain and maintain CFTC Public TrustPreferred Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)Posted Salary Range: USD $80,000.00 - USD $98,950.00 /Yr.
