Maybe you have built a website, played around with design, tried a bit of coding, or love solving problems. If that sounds like you, this is a chance to grow your skills with real support, real projects, and real mentorship.Internship DetailsDuration: 15 weeks, part-time, 20 hours/weekLocation: Hybrid, based in the Grand Rapids areaCompensation: $16 per hour Program Dates: August 31, 2026 - December 11, 2026What You Will Learn and Work OnProfessional SkillsIntro to WordPress and how the CMS worksWordPress design, themes, accessibility, and UI/UX basicsWordPress development including HTML, CSS, and extending functionality such as using ElementorUX/UI design tools such as Figma, FigJam, and AffinityHow to utilize AI tools and strategies within design and development processes Essential SkillsYou will also get support with:Opportunities to learn, practice, and grow your essential skills through real-world workplace tasks and collaborative projectsInterviewing and networking skillsCommunicating with clients and handling conflict in a healthy wayBasic financial literacy and showing up professionally Real Project ExperienceYou will work on websites for real clients, especially community organizations and nonprofits here in West Michigan. You will:Collaborate with designers, developers, and your mentorJoin team meetings and participate in project reviewsBuild real portfolio pieces that help you stand outWho We Are Looking ForYou might be a great fit if you:Have some familiarity with or interest in design or developmentAre curious, motivated, and excited to learnWant mentorship and experience to help you break into techEnjoy figuring things out and trying new thingsEligibility RequirementsTo join this internship program, you must:Not be currently seeking a 4 year degree.Be able to travel to the Tech Collaborative office 10hrs per week (Grand Rapids, MI).Work 20 hours per week for the full duration of the program.Be on-site Tuesdays (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) and Thursdays (1:00 PM- 4:00PM) plus 4 additional flexible in-office hours.Complete 10 hours of asynchronous remote work weekly.Ready To ApplyIf this sounds like the right fit for you, we would love to hear from you.
