Chest Medicine Associates (CMA) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our specialty practice serving patients with pulmonary and sleep-related conditions.

About the Role
Our Medical Assistants play a vital role in supporting physicians and advanced practice providers in delivering exceptional specialty care. You will work closely with providers in pulmonology and sleep medicine, helping ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and clear communication.
This position requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced medical office.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Support
Room patients and accurately obtain and document vital signs
Review and confirm patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Assist with prescription refill processing under provider direction
Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and diagnostic testing
Facilitate completion of forms related to durable medical equipment (DME), Bureau of Motor Vehicles, and other documentation needs
Patient & Provider Communication
Manage incoming phone calls and patient portal communications
Triage and route messages to physicians and APPs appropriately
Communicate provider instructions, test results, and recommendations to patients clearly and professionally
Administrative Support
Assist with scheduling office visits and diagnostic testing as needed
Confirm testing appointments
Scan and upload documents into the EMR
Support overall clinic workflow and operations
What We’re Looking For
Required
High school diploma or Associate’s degree
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong computer skills and proficiency with electronic medical records
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliant)
Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
Preferred
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
Clinical experience through an externship or prior MA role
Experience in pulmonology or sleep medicine
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
