Project Manager - Healthcare & VA Hospital ConstructionPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead medical construction projects, with a focus on VA hospital and other healthcare facility work. The Project Manager will oversee planning, execution, and closeout of construction projects to deliver safe, code-compliant, on-time, and on-budget facilities that meet clinical and regulatory requirements. This role requires technical construction knowledge, familiarity with healthcare and VA-specific standards, strong stakeholder management, and proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end project management for healthcare construction projects, including VA hospital renovations, additions, and new builds.Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource plans; monitor progress and implement corrective actions to meet milestones and financial targets.Coordinate design review and construction activities with architects, engineers, contractors, clinical stakeholders, facility operations, and VA representatives to ensure clinical workflows and regulatory requirements are met.Ensure compliance with healthcare codes, NFPA, Life Safety, infection control risk mitigation (ICRA/IS) procedures, and VA-specific standards and contract requirements.Manage procurement and subcontractor selection, scope negotiation, contract administration, and change order processing.Conduct regular site inspections and enforce safety and quality assurance standards, including OSHA requirements and project-specific safety plans.Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; resolve issues proactively to minimize schedule and budget impacts.Prepare and present project status reports, financial forecasts, and executive summaries for internal stakeholders and VA oversight personnel.Oversee commissioning, testing, turnover, and training activities to ensure systems perform to requirements and staff are prepared for operation.Lead closeout activities including final documentation, as-built records, warranties, lien releases, and lessons-learned reviews.Mentor and direct project engineers, coordinators, and on-site teams to promote high performance and adherence to standards.QualificationsBachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; PMP or equivalent project management certification preferred.Minimum 5+ years of progressive project management experience in construction, with at least 3 years on healthcare or hospital projects; direct experience on VA hospital projects strongly preferred.Demonstrated knowledge of VA contracting requirements, hospital design and construction standards, NFPA, ADA, and infection control protocols (ICRA/IS).Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources using tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar software.Strong contract administration skills, including experience with RFPs, subcontracts, change orders, and lien management.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience coordinating clinical staff, facilities, regulatory bodies, and government representatives.Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and medical gas systems used in healthcare facilities.Commitment to safety with familiarity with OSHA regulations and construction site safety programs.Ability to obtain necessary security clearances and to travel to VA sites as required.Benefits- Health, Dental & Vision Coverage-401k-Car allowance & cell phone-PTO
