Senior Pricing Manager

As our first Senior Pricing Manager, you'll have the rare opportunity to build this function from scratch inside a high-growth enterprise software company. You'll work directly with our Chief Product Officer to shape how Vasion packages, positions, and monetizes its products, including an immediate mandate to lead our foundational pricing strategy engagement alongside a top-tier external consultancy.This is a strategic, high-visibility role for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, market intelligence, and business storytelling and who knows how to turn a great strategy into something the business can actually execute.Reports To: Chief Product OfficerLocation: St. George or Lehi, UT (hybrid) preferred; open to remote candidates on the West CoastDepartment: ProductWhat You'll OwnPricing Strategy Development (Year 1 Priority)Own the execution of Vasion's foundational pricing and packaging strategy, partnering with an external pricing consultancy to develop a model that reflects our product portfolio, customer segments, and growth objectivesServe as the internal lead and primary point of continuity for the consulting engagement, providing business context, validating assumptions, pressure-testing recommendations, and ensuring outputs are actionable and adoptable internallyTranslate consulting outputs into internal frameworks, sales tools, and governance policies the business can operationalize post-engagementEnsure the strategy developed is durable and internally owned, not consultant-dependent, by building capability and documentation alongside itLead pricing transition programs as Vasion moves customers from legacy models to modern SaaS and AI-enhanced offerings, managing change in a way that minimizes churn and maximizes perceived valueDesign customer-facing communication strategies for price changes or model migrations with care for retention and long-term relationship healthMonetization StrategyOwn and evolve Vasion's pricing and packaging strategy across our product portfolio, from initial engagement through ongoing refinementEvaluate monetization models, including subscription, tiered, value-based, consumption-based, and AI-native pricing and recommend the right approach based on customer segments, product value, and market dynamicsDevelop pricing frameworks for AI-powered features and products, including consumption and outcome-based models, with a clear understanding of underlying inference cost structures and how to translate them into margin-aware, customer-friendly pricingHelp customers and the field articulate the ROI of AI capabilities, quantifying time savings, automation value, and decision quality improvements in ways that hold up in a sales conversationTranslate product and market insights into clear, actionable pricing recommendations for executive leadershipMarket Intelligence & Competitive PositioningBuild a continuous competitive pricing intelligence practice to keep Vasion sharp in the market, with particular attention to fast-moving AI competitor pricing dynamicsMonitor industry trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor moves, including AI add-on strategies, copilot pricing models, and embedded vs. standalone AI pricing to inform strategic decisionsConduct ongoing research and analyze historical pricing data, win/loss trends, and customer behavior to surface proactive recommendationsGo-to-Market AlignmentWork closely with Product Management, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure pricing decisions align with overall business goals and commercial executionBuild pricing playbooks for the field including floor prices, negotiation guardrails, discount authority frameworks, and competitive response tools that empower sales without eroding marginDesign pricing that supports land-and-expand motions, leveraging AI adoption and product expansion as drivers of revenue growth beyond the initial saleHelp sales teams articulate and defend value in competitive deals, particularly for new capabilities where buyer skepticism is highInfrastructure & GovernanceEstablish the pricing tools, processes, and policies that will scale with the businessDefine KPIs for pricing performance and deliver regular reporting to leadershipCreate functional strategies and specific objectives, and develop budgets, policies, and procedures to support the pricing function's infrastructureRequirements8+ years in pricing, product strategy, revenue operations, or corporate finance with at least two years in a senior or leadership roleProven track record of designing and implementing pricing strategies that drove measurable revenue or margin impactHands-on experience pricing AI-powered products or features, including usage/credit-based models, AI feature tiering, and outcome-based pricing in production, not just in theoryExperience in B2B technology or enterprise software strongly preferred, including companies that have undergone a business model transformation (traditional software → SaaS → AI)Comfortable operating as an individual contributor while influencing at the executive levelSkills & AttributesStrategic thinker, self-starter, and results-oriented, You don't wait to be told what to do, you bring a point of viewStrong financial modeling and analytical skills, including the ability to model AI cost structures (token consumption, compute costs) and translate them into sustainable pricingExceptional communicator who can simplify complexity, build buy-in across functions, and help buyers understand value before committing to new modelsSkilled at leading pricing transitions including managing customer skepticism and building internal confidence in new modelsComfortable building in ambiguity. This role comes with a blank canvas and high expectationsEducationBachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field requiredMBA or advanced degree preferred, but not required if your track record speaks for itselfBonus PointsExperience partnering with or working alongside external pricing consultancies (e.g., Simon-Kucher, Bain, McKinsey) to develop and operationalize pricing strategyHands-on experience with CPQ tools, pricing platforms, or revenue management systemsBackground in pricing for platform or multi-product software companiesExperience working cross-functionally in a scaling or PE-backed environmentWhy This Role, Why NowVasion is at an inflection point.
