Freelance Children's Apparel Designer

Job DescriptionCP Brands Group is looking to hire a Freelance Designer to start ASAP and be available for multiple projects. Looking for someone with 2+ years of design experience who would be responsible for designing multiple childrens-wear fashion brands to department stores, big box retailers, and the off-price channel. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative environment between Sales, Design, and Sourcing teams.Candidate must be an expert in Adobe Illustrator, detail-oriented, creative, self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities Work closely with Design Director to create children’s collections that align with each brand’s DNA (categories include: accessories, apparel, pajamas, socks)Work with Technical Designer to sketch new bodies, then plug prints into black + whitesPair prints together for matching sets or collectionsRevise artwork when needed (must be able to scale prints, recreate a repeat, recolor)Create, maintain and revise tech packs relative to designsAbility to juggle multiple projects at onceQualifications2+ years of related design experience – with portfolio to demonstrate prior workExpert in Adobe IllustratorBachelor's degree in fashion design, merchandising, art, or related fieldAbility to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentIn-depth understanding of design principles such as construction and garment fitPrecise and accurate attention to detailAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
