Material Handler

Position overview: The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of materials within the different departments in the manufacturing facility. This role involves loading and unloading materials, managing inventory and supplying the assembly line to maintain continuous production. Responsibilities: Material Movement: Transport raw materials and finished products between storage areas in the departments and the assembly line using forklifts, hand trucks, and other industrial equipment. Inventory Management: Receive, inspect, and record incoming materials. Maintain accurate inventory records and notify supervisors of any discrepancies. Production Department Support: Ensure the departments are continuously supplied with necessary materials to prevent production delays. Packaging and Shipping: Package and label finished products according to customer specifications and prepare them for shipment. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve material handling processes and suggest solutions to managers. Maintain a safe work environment with a “safety first” mindset and follow all safety processes and procedures Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age Must be authorized to work in the United States Must have at least 1 year of manufacturing experience Must have at least 1 year of forklift operation Must be able to be fit-tested for respirator wear and use Must be able to speak and read basic English, bilingual (Spanish) is a plus Must pass a drug screen and background check Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license Education: High school diploma or GED preferred Supervisory requirements: None Competencies: Ability to prioritize work tasks and multi-task Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail Ability to withstand extreme temperatures (hot and cold) and outside elements Ability to stand/walk/crouch/bend frequently throughout entire shift (up to 10 hours) Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred Must be able to form advantageous work relationships with plant management and department managers across the entire facility
