Online Mathematics Tutor (FAA Technical Training Support)
Job DescriptionLanguage on Demand, Inc. (LOD) is seeking qualified Online Mathematics Tutors to support a potential Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) contract. This role involves providing one-on-one online tutoring to FAA learners enrolled in technical distance learning courses.Tutors will help learners strengthen their understanding of mathematics and related technical concepts needed to complete self-paced training courses successfully. This is a remote tutoring opportunity for individuals with strong subject matter expertise and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly in an online setting.Subject Areas May Include:Applied AlgebraApplied TrigonometryPeriodic Waves and Phasor AnalysisLogarithms and dBBasic ElectronicsAC/DC CircuitsInductance and CapacitanceTransformers and Power QualityTransmission Line TheoryAntenna TheoryInstrument Landing Systems (ILS) ConceptsResponsibilitiesProvide one-on-one online tutoring sessions to learners in FAA technical training programsAssist learners in understanding math-intensive and technical course contentSupport learners through virtual tools such as document sharing, typing, and drawing/whiteboard featuresExplain technical and mathematical concepts in a clear, patient, and professional mannerDocument tutoring support as requiredMaintain a high standard of professionalism, punctuality, and instructional qualityMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Education, or a related fieldStrong knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, and applied technical mathematicsExperience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or instructing students or adult learnersComfortable teaching in an online environmentStrong communication skills in EnglishReliable internet connection and ability to work remotelyPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting adult learners in technical or workforce training programsBackground in electronics, aviation systems, telecommunications, or related technical fieldsExperience with virtual tutoring platforms and online whiteboard/document-sharing toolsPrior federal contract or government training support experienceWork ScheduleRemote / On-demand tutoring supportAvailability during U.S. business hours preferredSchedule may vary based on program needsEmployment TypePart-time / Contract / As-neededJob Types: Part-time, ContractWork Location: Remote
