JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy construction equipment and a fleet of pickup trucks owned by Hawkins. This role requires expertise in hydraulic and electrical systems, ET diagnostics, and small equipment maintenance, including welders, compressors, and generators. The mechanic will also manage and perform scheduled maintenance while maintaining organized daily paperwork.
TYPICAL DUTIES
Troubleshoot and repair heavy construction equipment and company-owned vehicles.
Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical system issues.
Perform maintenance and repairs on small equipment (welders, compressors, generators, etc.)
Maintain accurate and organized records of maintenance repairs.
Operate company vehicles and heavy equipment as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in heavy equipment repair maintenance.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
Proficiency with ET diagnosis and repair.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Welding and fabrication skills.
Certifications in equipment repairs or mechanics.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand for long periods of time.
Have full use of arms and hands and the ability to reach for, handle and manipulate objects.
Frequently lift and carry materials weighing 50 to 100 pounds.
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects.
Carry tools and equipment.
Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl for long periods of time.
Be able to see (naturally or with correction)
