Job Description Quality Control (QC) InspectorJoin a world-class leader in building structures and bridges, delivering complex and high-profile projects across commercial, bridge, and industrial sectors. The QC Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring fabrication quality and compliance throughout the production process.Position OverviewThe QC Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections to verify weld quality and dimensional accuracy of fabricated components. This role requires strong technical expertise, knowledge of industry codes and standards, and the ability to ensure all products meet contract specifications and are free of defects.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform dimensional and visual inspections of shop fabrication, including weld preparation, final welds, and paint finishesEnsure all fabricated materials meet drawings, shop standards, specifications, and applicable codesMaintain accurate in-process and final inspection records for quality assurance and production controlIdentify and resolve drawing discrepancies in collaboration with detailersCoordinate with customer inspectors during inspection phasesCommunicate fabrication defects to foremen and production teamsAssist shop personnel with interpretation of codes, drawings, and specificationsCore CompetenciesStrong integrity, accountability, and attention to detailAction-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentSolid technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, and inspection practicesStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsEffective time management and ability to prioritize tasksResults-driven with a focus on quality and continuous improvementExcellent communication and active listening skillsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3 years of related experience in quality control or fabricationVocational or technical training may substitute for one (1) year of experienceCertification such as CAWI, AWS-CWI, SCWI, or CWB (CSA W178.2) preferredEquivalent combination of training and experience in metals fabrication, inspection, and testing will be consideredCompany DescriptionBalance Staffing is a full-service staffing agency that aims to unite talented and hardworking people with excellent workplaces, while building lasting relationships with our employees and our clients.
