Job Summary: Receives and handles inventory materials in warehouse environment. Assists Warehouse and Materials Coordinator in filling orders and organizing materials. Receives and reports statistics on Beyond Recall materials. Operates forklift and pallet jacks; maintains clean and orderly warehouse environment.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Receive Beyond Recall materials and report statistics.
Receive materials and shelve/store appropriately under the guidance of the Warehouse and Materials Coordinator.
Sort and organize mixed shipments of materials.
Handle materials as appropriate to material type, with understanding that some materials are fragile, delicate, and irreplaceable.
Record daily receipts of Beyond Recall materials by library code and quantity received; submit counts for inclusion in monthly reports.
Report other statistics as needed.
Assist with MSCE daily incoming/outgoing USPS mail.
Load and unload shipments.
Prepare materials for shipment: palletize, wrap, label, etc.
Operate material handling equipment including stretch wrapper, electric pallet jack, forklift, lift tilter, etc.
Work in collaboration and cooperation with other MSCE staff.
Coordinate with Warehouse and Materials Coordinator and Currency Reader Coordinator/Statistics Specialist to ensure warehouse operations run smoothly and orders are filled promptly.
Maintain clean and safe warehouse.
Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma/GED/associates degree, or combination of education and equivalent experience.
Materials and inventory handling experience.
Forklift operator certification.
Pallet jack operator certification.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to routinely climb library ladders.
Ability to lift 40 lbs. on a routine basis.
Valid driver’s license with no more than 5 points on driving record and insured, reliable car available for occasional on the job use.
