We delivered the world’s first fully integrated BACnet building solution for HVAC, lighting, and access control.Job SummaryThe System Architect role at Delta Intelligent Building Technologies is a senior technical position responsible for pre-sales system design, solution architecture, and sales enablement within the building automation market. This role partners closely with the Delta IBT sales teams, partners, and customers to design scalable, secure, and future-ready intelligent building solutions.In addition to opportunity support, this role plays a critical part in training and enabling Delta IBT sales teams on system architecture, solution positioning, and best practices aligned with the Delta IBT technology portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide pre-sales technical leadership supporting Delta sales teams across strategic and complex opportunitiesArchitect end-to-end Delta intelligent building solutions, including controllers, networks, software platforms, analytics, and system integrationsTranslate customer and sales requirements into complete system architectures, including diagrams, narratives, and technical documentationSupport RFPs, proposals, and system specifications with clear, differentiated Delta architecturesServe as a trusted technical advisor to sales teams, integration partners, and end customersDevelop and deliver architecture and customer solution training for partnersEnable sales teams with technical messaging, solution positioning, and use-case alignment that reflects the Delta IBT value propositionLead technical discovery, solution reviews, and architecture workshopsEvaluate system designs for cybersecurity, scalability, redundancy, and performanceCollaborate with Delta product management and engineering to provide market feedback and influence product directionSupport Delta Direct and OEM where advanced system architecture is requiredRequired Qualifications7+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or intelligent building systemsStrong working knowledge of HVAC control systems, building networks, and enterprise integrationsDemonstrated experience in pre-sales support, solution architecture, or technical sales rolesAbility to train, mentor, and enable sales teams on architecture concepts and system designStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, system interoperability, and software platformsExcellent communication skills with the ability to present technical solutions clearly and confidentlyPreferred QualificationsExperience working with Delta Controls platforms or close equivalentKnowledge of open protocols, IT/OT convergence, and cybersecurity in building systemsExperience with cloud platforms, analytics, visualization, and data integrationBackground supporting large commercial, campus, healthcare, or data center environmentsExperience developing sales enablement or technical training materialsKey CompetenciesSystem architecture and solution designPre-sales technical leadershipSales enablement and trainingCustomer-focused problem solvingCross-functional collaborationJob Type: Full-time, remoteLocation: USA South EastTravel: Up to 30% travel for customer engagements, internal training, and strategic sales supportSalary100,000 - 120,000 USDPlus CommissionThis range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all USA locations.
