Primary PurposePlan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program for6th through 8th grade students. Fully develop each student’s academic, career, personal, and social abilities.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary or Secondary EducationMaster’s degree from an accredited college or universityValid Texas school counselor certificateSpecial Knowledge/SkillsCurrent knowledge of counseling procedures, student appraisal, and career developmentExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorAbility to present information in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations to students, parents, and district staffExperienceThree years teaching or equivalent classroom experience
