RN Clinic Gastroenterology

OverviewPurpose of Job: This position provides professional nursing care to patients in a clinic setting and facilitates patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.ResponsibilitiesEscort patients to examination rooms and obtain vitals and patient histories; document in EMR.Perform telephone assessments of patient condition and determine appropriate treatment for the patient under the supervision of the provider.Administer prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies.Prepare equipment and assist providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.Assist in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilize instruments/exam rooms.Perform room turnover in patient rooms between cases and at end of day.Assist in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.Provide patient education.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum Education/Work Experience: Graduate from a School of Nursing; 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Skills in assessment of patient condition and taking vital signs; ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions; skills in preparing and maintaining records and reports; ability to effectively handle a high-stress fast-paced environment; ability to multi-task; ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate in English for effective written and verbal correspondence to complete job functions.License/Certifications: Current professional nurse licensure in Minnesota or, if licensed in another state, a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing while the license application is in process; current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.Compensation & BenefitsMany factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as: the requirements of the position, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity.
