The role will manage small to mid-sized projects while also supporting larger capital initiatives across campus.The Facilities Project Manager will coordinate with campus stakeholders, architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and university leadership to help advance projects, maintain schedules and budgets, review project documentation, support construction administration, and provide regular project status updates.This is a hands-on, owner-side project management role in a busy higher education environment. It is well suited for someone with construction management, architecture, engineering, facilities planning, or institutional capital project experience who is available for a short-term assignment and can step in quickly to help keep active projects moving.Compensation: $10,000 per monthPosition Type: Full-time, temporary contractual positionBenefits: Safe and sick leave onlyLocation: Princess Anne, MarylandKey ResponsibilitiesManage assigned renovation and capital improvement projects from scope development through construction closeoutCoordinate with campus stakeholders, consultants, contractors, architects, and engineersMonitor project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall progressReview construction documents, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change ordersConduct site visits to observe progress and support quality controlMaintain organized project documentation and provide regular project updatesSupport larger capital initiatives and institutional planning efforts as neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityFive years of progressively responsible project management experienceExperience managing construction, renovation, capital improvement, or facilities-related projectsStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and coordinate across diverse stakeholder groupsExperience reviewing drawings, specifications, budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, and change ordersProficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and project management toolsPreferred ExperienceExperience in higher education, institutional, public-sector, or owner-side project managementDegree in construction management, engineering, architecture, facilities management, project management, or a related fieldExperience with renovation, laboratory, research, or occupied-campus projectsFamiliarity with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, scheduling tools, or similar project management softwareExperience with capital budgeting, contract administration, procurement, and cost controlRelevant project management or construction management certification is a plus but not requiredHow To ApplyInterested candidates can apply through the UMES employment website: https://umd.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/UMES/details/Facilities-Project-Manager_JR104068Please share with anyone in your network who may be a strong fit.
