Draftsman (Entry Level)Full Time, Office (Mon - Fri, 8:00 am - to 5:00 pm)This is a position as an Entry Level Draftsman in a Structural Fabricator’s Drafting Room. Most of this work will be done at the Candidates desk, utilizing a desktop computer and/or hard copies of detail drawings. Computer, Drawing Reading, and Math Skills are essential to the daily tasks of the Candidate. The ideal Candidate would be Dedicated, Detail Oriented, Dependable, Technically Minded, and above all else Willing to Learn. We use industry leading software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office products, Peddinghaus Raptor, SDS/2, and Tekla but due to the unique nature of our work, on-the-job training will be provided to the Candidate.3D modeling and model processing using multiple software platforms.Coordination with external contractors or vendors.CNC programming using multiple software platforms.Detailing, including basic hand sketching and/or computer detailing.Document control.Document data entry.Drawing review and checking.Physical RequirementsCandidates should expect to spend approximately six hours per day sitting and working at a computer. The remaining time would be spent walking or standing, with occasional handling of rolls of structural drawings. However, the Candidate may be required to enter the shop from time to time.Job PrerequisitesIt is preferred for Candidates to have a Two-year College or Technical degree, preferably in Architectural/Civil/Structural Engineering or Drafting & Design Technology. They should have an understanding of math including: Basic Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. They must have the ability to read and understand Technical documents/drawings from multiple disciplines. They must be focused and detail oriented and willing to learn and perform a variety of tasks, including tasks falling outside their normal scope of work.
