About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support backend systems and lead cloud transformation initiatives for a large-scale grocery retail platform. This role will focus on modernizing infrastructure, enhancing customer-facing services, and enabling scalable, data-driven solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and contribute to data migration efforts from on-premises systems to cloud-based architectureDesign, develop, and maintain backend services supporting customer loyalty platforms (e.g., Mperks or similar systems)Build and optimize APIs and distributed systems using C# and .NETArchitect and deploy solutions within Microsoft AzureDevelop and manage data solutions leveraging Azure Cosmos DBEnsure system scalability, reliability, and performance in a high-traffic retail environmentCollaborate with cross-functional teams including product, data, and DevOpsParticipate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and mentoringExplore and integrate AI/ML capabilities where applicableRequired Qualifications5–10 years of professional software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in C# and .NET (Core or Framework)Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred)Experience with NoSQL databases, especially Cosmos DB or similarProven experience with data migration projects from on-prem to cloudSolid understanding of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and distributed systemsExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting retail, e-commerce, or loyalty platformsFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts or implementations (e.g., recommendation systems, personalization)Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systemsKnowledge of cloud security best practicesWhat Success Looks LikeSuccessful migration of legacy systems to scalable cloud infrastructureReliable, high-performing backend systems supporting large user basesContributions to modernization and innovation initiativesStrong collaboration and technical leadership within the team
