Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant - Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit

Per Diem - MaineHealth Behavioral Health - Sanford Inpatient, is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Associate/Assistant (PPA) to care for adults facing acute psychiatric crises on our 40-bed inpatient unit. This is a dynamic clinical role that includes performing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and acute care in the setting of a 40 bed adult acute inpatient psychiatric facility. You'll be supported by 24-hour physician coverage and a culture that prioritizes both patient care and provider well-being. Previous experience required.Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, weekends and weekdays.Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.2+ years of patient care in an inpatient Medical Hospital is preferred.MaineHealth is a not-for-profit integrated health system whose vision is, "Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America."
