You will be the connective tissue between the firm owner and the production team — keeping work moving, clients well-served, and standards high.•    Own and manage a defined portfolio of individual and small business clients as their primary day-to-day contact•    Oversee all tax production — preparation and review of 1040, 1120S, 1065, 1120, and related schedules — ensuring quality and timeliness across the team•    Review work product from bookkeeping staff and offshore team before it moves into tax preparation•    Handle client calls, emails, compliance questions, and routine tax inquiries independently and professionally•    Manage deadlines, workflows, and workload distribution across production staff during tax season and year-round•    Identify issues in client financials with confidence — balance sheets, retained earnings, entity-level inconsistencies•    Communicate scope changes to clients proactively before additional work proceeds — no surprise invoices•    Escalate complex advisory or high-stakes client situations to firm ownership with appropriate context•    Contribute to firm process improvements, staff development, and quality standards over timeTHE CLIENT SERVICE SCOPEYou will be the face of the firm for day-to-day client relationships. Here is how client service responsibility is structured:“You handle everything compliance and tax — clients get answers, not callbacks. Anything strategic or advisory, we handle together.”•    You own independently: routine tax questions, notice responses, year-end planning conversations, return delivery and walkthroughs, bookkeeping review discussions, deadline and scope management•    You escalate to firm owner: entity structure decisions, business sale or transition planning, complex multi-entity situations, high-stakes advisory conversations, and anything requiring strategic judgment beyond complianceWHO YOU ARE•    Active CPA license — required, no exceptions•    7–12 years of experience in public accounting — industry-only backgrounds will not be considered•    You have managed or reviewed the work of others and are comfortable holding a team to a standard•    You can take a set of reviewed financials and produce a complete, accurate return without being walked through it•    You communicate with clients the way you would want to be communicated with — clear, confident, and genuinely helpful•    You are high-energy and organized — the kind of person who owns their deadlines and does not wait to be managed•    You have good judgment about when to handle something yourself and when to bring in the right person•    You want to be part of something growing — not just filling a seat until something better comes along•    Proficient in at least one major tax platform: Drake, UltraTax, Lacerte, or ProSeriesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSBASE SALARY$90K – $140KANNUAL BONUSPerformance- basedHEALTHCARE100% employee coverage401K MATCH4% employer matchSCHEDULEHybridPTOCompetitive + holidaysTOTAL COMP$108K – $160K+GROWTH PATHSr. Manager → DirectorTotal compensation including benefits typically lands between $108K–$160K+ depending on experience.
