Electrical Project Manager
WHO WE ARE
Perry Electrical has spent over 13 years building a reputation in Kansas that we’re proud of not just for the quality of our electrical work, but for the way we do business. We’re a commercial electrical contractor that shows up, follows through, and holds ourselves to a high standard on every project. We’re likeable, ethical, and helpful and we hire people who bring those same qualities to work every day.
We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Project Management who’s ready to be a key part of how we win work and build the right way.
OUR CORE VALUES
We Expect Excellence – in craftsmanship, communication, and character.
We Work Hard. We Work Smart. – every day, on every project.
We Are Always Learning – because growth never stops.
We Have Grit. – we finish what we start and overcome challenges together.
THE ROLE
As a Project Manager, you take a job the moment it’s won and own the management side of it all the way through closeout. You turn a winning bid into a plan the field can build by handling pre-construction, scheduling, and manpower. From there, you hand a clean, well-organized job to your foreman and support them through construction. You run the project from the office so your crews can build in the field. This is a role for someone who takes ownership seriously, brings order to the details, and doesn’t need to be chased to get it done.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Take the handoff
Take ownership of each job the moment it’s won, receiving the handoff from the estimator and get to know the scope, budget, and expectations inside and out.
Run pre-construction
Own all pre-construction work, including submittals, contracts, insurance, subcontractor management and project coordination, so nothing slips before the crew ever sets foot on site.
Build the project schedule and manpower forecast, so the right crew is on the right job at the right time.
Hand off to the field
Hand a clean, fully planned job to your foreman at mobilization, then support field execution throughout construction.
Stay the point person for general contractors, owners, and suppliers, and keep those relationships strong from award to closeout.
Manage the money
Partner with the estimator to price and manage change orders as the job evolves, protecting the margin on every one.
Coordinate with the controller on invoicing and pay applications to keep cash flowing and the job current.
Track costs against budget throughout, catching variances early and course-correcting before small problems get big.
Close it out
Drive closeout alongside the estimator and controller, including final documentation, final billing, and a clean, complete finish.
Keep every project in full compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Safety is never optional.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Commercial construction project management experience, or a degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. We care about what you can do as much as how you got there.
Strong proficiency with Excel, Procore, and other construction build and management tools. You’re comfortable living in these systems every day.
High attention to detail. On your jobs, submittals are right, contracts are buttoned up, and nothing falls through the cracks.
Initiative. You see what needs to happen, and you make it happen without waiting to be told.
The confidence to speak up early and raise concerns, along with the habit of bringing solutions, not just problems.
A solid grasp of budgets, cost codes, labor, and how field decisions hit the bottom line.
The ability to turn a schedule into a staffing plan and adjust proactively as conditions change.
Electrical field experience is a plus, not a requirement. Construction background matters more.
