IP Patent Prosecution

We are currently seeking candidates to support our Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position is available in any of our offices, with a strong preference for Salt Lake City, Atlanta, or San Diego. The ideal candidate will have strong patent prosecution experience, excellent credentials and solid work experience, preferably from a quality boutique or an AMLAW 200 firm. Patent bar admitted is a plus, but not essential.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the USPTOCounsel clients on patentability and infringement issuesReview and analyze patent literatureManage patent portfolios for clientsStay current on developments in patent laws and regulationsAbility to learn quickly in a fast-paced, client-centric environmentQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmitted to the relevant state bar and in good standing2+ years of experience in patent prosecutionStrong knowledge of patent laws and regulationsExcellent drafting and negotiation skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to work independentlyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAdmittance to practice law in the state where the position is basedTechnical background or significant experience in computer science or electrical engineering is preferredOur Intellectual Property group works with clients of all sizes across a variety of fields, including technology, life sciences, financial services, computer software products, and consumer products. The group focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications, advising on defensive and offensive strategies for enforcement of patents, drafting and negotiating strategic licensing and commercial agreements on behalf of clients, and providing general intellectual property and business counseling. This is an employer estimate and the salary offered within that range, and the potential for bonus and bonus amount, will depend on candidate's years of practice and experience and performance.
