Production Manager

AFSI, located in Allen, Texas, has and will continue to base its strategy on technical and application support, quality assurance, product performance and value.The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising manufacturing operations to meet production targets while ensuring safety, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery. This role leads production teams, drives continuous improvement, enforces standards, and collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to optimize output and product quality.Plan daily, weekly and monthly production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery targetsSupervise, coach and develop production supervisors and operators; manage staffing, training and shift handovers.Ensure production meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards; enforce AS/ISO/OSHA requirements as applicable.Monitor production KPIs (throughput, yield, scrap, uptime, on-time delivery, labor efficiency) and take corrective actions.Coordinate with Supply Chain to manage material availability and minimize production downtime.Coordinate with production planning, sales and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure capacity is sufficient to meet requirementsLead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean manufacturing, SS, Kaizen) to reduce waste, increase throughput and lower costs.Oversee production documentation, batch records, and traceability processes.Manage production changeovers and new product introductions with cross-functional teams.Ensure proper operation and preventive maintenance coordination with Maintenance.Control labor and operating costs within budget; prepare production reports and forecasts.Promote and maintain a safe, inclusive, and compliant workplaceStrong leadership, communication, and coaching skills.Problem-solving skills: structured problem solving (5 Whys, PDCA).Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100) and root cause corrective action (RCCA).Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.5+ years manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role (adjustable by level).Demonstrated experience with production planning, scheduling and metrics-driven management.Experience in continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).Proficient with manufacturing systems (ERP/MRP) and MS Office.Work environment: Fast-paced manufacturing floor with ESD/clean-area controls, frequent standing and walking, use of inspection/metrology equipment, and close collaboration with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.
