Our work depends on TS/SCI level cleared Linux Systems Engineer joining our team to support our Intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO (with preference in Springfield, VA).The position supports the Geospatial Services & Solutions business area to provide high-quality, cost-effective solutions to the customer. As part of the GSS Team the linux systems engineer expertise is needed to support a sophisticated enterprise environment.The Linux Systems Engineer is an active participant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetings. The systems engineer will be responsible for supporting the customer's enterprise environment.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design, implement, and maintain enterprise Linux-based infrastructure in both on-prem and virtualized environmentsDevelop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python)Standardize system configuration, patching, and deployment processes through infrastructure-as-code practicesAdminister and support Red Hat ecosystem tools, including Satellite and CapsuleIntegrate and manage authentication and authorization mechanisms (e.g., OAuth, SSO, identity providers)Support and optimize virtualized environments, including platforms such as NutanixSupport the development of dashboards using observability solutions using tools such as Grafana and ZabbixTroubleshoot complex system, performance, and integration issues across distributed environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiencyDocument system architecture, processes, and automation workflowsContribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including automation maturity and operational best practicesEDUCATION:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.QUALIFICATIONS:5+ years of experience administering and engineering Linux systems in enterprise environmentsRequired Skills:Solid understanding of system administration fundamentals (networking, storage, security, OS internals)Strong expertise in configuration management and automation using AnsibleProficiency in scripting (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and toolingExperience managing Red Hat-based environments (RHEL, Satellite, Capsule or similar tools)Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure and performance issuesFamiliarity with authentication and authorization concepts (e.g., OAuth, LDAP, SSO)Experience with monitoring and alerting systemsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independentlyActive TS/SCI clearance required and eligibility to obtain a CI polyDesired:Experience with virtualization platforms such as NutanixExperience with observability and dashboarding tools such as Grafana and ZabbixFamiliarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration with infrastructure automationExperience implementing security best practices in Linux environmentsStrong communication and documentation skillsLocation: Customer SiteUS Citizenship RequiredSalary and Benefit InformationThe likely salary range for this position is $159,800 - $216,200. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
