Industrial Metal Fabricator The Kelly Group is seeking an Industrial Metal Fabricator for its Decatur, Illinois facility. Candidates should have a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the layout and fabrication of sheet metal and structural steel.This position requires the ability to perform these essential duties:Safely and accurately lay out and fabricate straight lengths of ductwork, cones, elbows, tapers and miscellaneous parts utilizing a bending rollSafely and accurately lay out and fabricate square and rectangular spouting, square to rounds, tapers, offset fittings and various parts utilizing a press brakeSafely and accurately measure and cut various sheet metals utilizing a sheet metal shearSafe operation of an ironworker machine to punch, shear and cutSafe operation of a drill press, punch press, hand grinder and other tools of the tradeReading and understanding of blueprints/drawings, and developing a cut list and/or material list accordinglyOther preferred qualifications sought include:Experience fabricating structural steel, stairs, platforms and handrailAbility to layout and cut sheet metal on a high-definition plasma tableAbility to tack weld and/or final weld all fabrications utilizing SMAW, MIG and GTAW of mild steel and stainless steelThorough understanding of techniques to set up welding machines and gasesAbility to square up and weld various geometries and componentsAbility to perform vertical and horizontal weldingUnderstanding of various weld form symbols on blueprintsAbility to safely rig material and utilize overhead cranesBasic computer skills, including Excel and WordFamiliarity with AutoCADThe Kelly Group offers a complete benefits package, including:Comprehensive group medical, Rx, dental and vision coverageHealth care and dependent care pre-tax flexible spending account optionsPaid life/AD&D insuranceShort-term and long-term disability401(k) retirement plan option with employer matchPaid time off and paid vacationPaid holidaysEEO STATEMENTThe Kelly Group is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status or any other characteristic protected by law.
