Laboratory Animal Veterinary Intern

Deadline for Application March 6th 2026 Location Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Laboratory Animal Veterinary Intern to join our Animal Welfare and Integrity team in this full‑time, paid, summer internship. It will be part‑remote/part‑onsite; qualified candidates should be available to spend approximately two to three days per week at our Cambridge City, Indiana site. Starting Pay $20.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors. Internship Overview The Laboratory Animal Veterinary Intern supports animal welfare assessments under the supervision of veterinary staff while receiving professional training, following established SOPs, assisting with data compilation, and participating in team meetings. Eligibility Be enrolled in an academic program in pursuit of a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine Have completed at least one year of courses in a veterinary medical program Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Have a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes Physical Demands & Work Environment The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work, with some walking, standing, bending, carrying items such as papers and books, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required. Generally, no adverse environmental conditions are present. Occasional exposure to minor injury or other occupational hazards requiring precaution. Occasional exposure to extremes in temperature, outdoor weather, strong odors, and/or noise levels may occur.
