Meets the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural and needs of the patient and family. Communicates effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment.Reports to: Director of Emergency ServicesResponsibilities of the PositionPerforms head-to-toe assessment on all patients and reassessments as per policy.Adequately assesses and reassesses pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management.Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific for the patient's age.Demonstrates knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and the patient's clinical condition.Follows the 6 rights of medication administration to reduce the potential for medication errors.Formulates, implements, and revises the patient's plan of care based on the patient's diagnosis and clinical symptoms.Formulates, implements, and revises the patient's educational plan.Assists physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.Performs treatments and provides services to the level of licensure.Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of errors.Coordinates and supervises patient care.Meets current documentation standards and policies.Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
