Financial Controller
We are excited to be working exclusively on a Financial Controller opportunity with a well-established, acquisitive business in Bradford. The business has built a strong reputation for delivering innovative solutions across a diverse customer base and has established a nationwide presence. Following continued growth, the business is looking to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller to oversee the finance team and play a key role in driving business performance.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function while leading a small finance team. This is a broad and varied role that combines strong financial control with commercial business partnering, providing valuable insight to support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and developing a small team of 2 management accountants
Managing monthly close process and overseeing the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts.
Reviewing P&L, balance sheets and cash flow reporting, providing insightful commentary on business performance.
Producing budgets, forecasts and financial models to support strategic planning.
Partnering with operations to improve profitability and informed decision making.
Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital.
Developing robust financial controls, processes and governance.
Supporting FD with strategic projects, acquisitions.
Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, systems and financial processes through continuous improvement initiatives.
Coordinating year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements, working closely with external auditors and advisers.
Qualifications & Experience
ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified.
Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar level role.
Experience working in a multi-site business.
Strong technical accounting knowledge.
Experience managing and developing finance teams.
Ability to interpret financial information and influence decision-making.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies.
Strong Excel skills and experience of ERP or integrated finance systems.
