Operating Room Registered Nurse Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 10H Days Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Basic competency in multiple services; Reliability and good attendance; Flexibility Description: Strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver's license to the facility. There are 19 surgical suites and 55-60 cases per day, averaging approximately 1000 cases per month. The charge nurse oversees the nurse manager and the OR techs. RN's will cover a weekend approximately once a quarter. On average, RN's will have general call every 7th weekend, with no call during the week. Two specialty teams take call every night. Travelers will only take call if cases are within their competency. Common types of cases include full service, excluding major pediatrics and transplants. This facility functions as a level 2 trauma center and performs some orthopedic and neurological trauma procedures as well as robotics. Scrubbing is preferred for RN's but not required. The facility expects travelers to be reliable, punctual, and ready to work. Skills checklist must accurately reflect experience. If rated a 3, the traveler must be proficient. The facility requires flexibility to meet needs. Cancellation policy is 12 hours every 2 weeks. Charting system used is Meditech. BSN is not required.
