Schedule 12-hour day/night rotating shifts, weekends as scheduled. Shifts run from 7 AM to 7 PM; staff must be on the unit by 6:45 AM/PM. Job Description We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Intermediate Care Unit. The unit consists of 30 beds, including 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms, with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5, occasionally 1:6. Nurses will collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists who are in-house 24/7. The role involves managing various patient conditions, including chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and providing care for patients on medication drips. Responsibilities Administer medications and titrate IV drips, including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin. Monitor telemetry strips; RN's must be able to read and interpret their own strips. Provide care and conduct assessments for patients with intermediate care needs. Manage patient care alongside nurse aides and clinical assistants. Participate in patient orientation and training. Float to other units as needed, including Telemetry and MedSurg with ratios up to 1:6. Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Current RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
