Your work will make a direct and positive difference in your community.Check out this video for more information!DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position provides training in equipment operation, safety practices and maintenance tasks that support highway and bridge crews across the county. The role builds the foundation needed to operate construction equipment and perform essential laboring duties. As a PennDOT CDL Operator Trainee, you will perform the following duties:Equipment Training: Learn to operate heavy trucks and loaders while completing required checks and adjustmentsManual Tasks: Perform laboring duties using tools such as shovels, rakes, chainsaws, and tampersSafety Practices: Follow proper safety procedures and use protective equipment to maintain a safe work environmentEnvironmental Awareness: Support environmental goals by following district and county guidelinesWorksite Reporting: Report equipment issues, hazards, injuries and incidents promptly to supervisorsInterested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,526 (before taxes).You will receive further communication regarding this position via email.
