The Underwriting Assistant-Surety plays a vital role in supporting underwriting operations and delivering outstanding service to agents, clients, and internal teams. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy managing details with accuracy and efficiency, this Underwriting Assistant-Surety opportunity may be the perfect fit for you.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Underwriting Assistant-Surety is responsible for supporting underwriting activities through administrative coordination, account management, and communication with agents and internal departments. Responsibilities include entering bid bond requests and Contract Bond Requests, following up on missing or outstanding information, obtaining approvals from underwriters or Home Office personnel, and entering new bond submissions into company systems.Additional responsibilities for the Underwriting Assistant-Surety include ordering and reviewing credit reports, entering financial information into contractor profiles, coordinating bank and business references, preparing General Indemnity Agreements, and maintaining accurate suspense systems to ensure timely follow-up and account management.The Underwriting Assistant-Surety will also assist with accounting discrepancies, past due accounts, claim notices, and communication with Home Office Claims regarding bond information requests. Success in this Underwriting Assistant-Surety role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service.Experience & QualificationsThe ideal Underwriting Assistant-Surety candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent along with at least one year of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
