Well then Vertical Cold Storage is looking for you to join our team as a Warehouse Equipment Operator!Vertical Cold Storage is a leader in our industry, as well as an employer of choice because not only do we offer a competitive wage, but we offer a competitive benefits package that includes health and welfare benefits, 401k match, PTO, referral bonus and more.Why Vertical Cold Storage needs you:We need you to help us provide top notch service by operating Powered Industrial Vehicles to perform warehouse duties as assigned in an accurate and timely manner.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Drive and use Powered Industrial Vehicles to perform job which can typically include forklift and power jack.Maintain certifications to use powered equipment through safe work practices and following of procedures.Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, following appropriate operating procedures and requesting repairs.Use hand-held scanner and vehicle mounted units to maintain accurate inventory control through proper recording of locations of pallets and/or cases.Monitor condition of cases and integrity of pallets. Report substandard or out-of-specification items to Supervision.Place labels on cases or loads in accordance with customer specifications.Process inventory by stacking, un-stacking, restacking, wrapping, and unwrapping pallets and cases of product according to customer specifications.Insert or remove dividers between cases as instructed.Complete general housekeeping that includes sweeping and emptying garbageContribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Communicate positively and effectively within a Team environment.Meet attendance requirements of the position.Stretch wrap pallets using either manually or using a powered machineSafely perform job duties by maintaining a safe working environment, following safety rules and regulations, being aware of surroundings, not using machines unless trained and other techniques.Support assigned duties of the plant supervision to assist in the operations of the facility.Other duties to be assigned as business necessitatesJob Qualifications - Education and Experience:Prior warehouse/distribution experience desiredPrior use of forklift and other motorized equipment preferredCustomer service experience preferredUse strong math skills to count and multiply accurately.Use non-motorized pallet jackPhysical Requirements:Regularly stand and walk for 8 or more hours in a day.Effectively handle lifting, pushing, pulling up to 60 pounds frequentlyFrequently bend, twist, stoop, grip, climb or balance, and reach with hands and arms.Vertical Cold Storage is an EOE/M/F/D/VDrug Free Workplace
