Job Description Job Title: Senior Generator Technician (Commercial)Company: South Mountain GeneratorLocation: Maryland DC Virginia Service AreaJob Type: Full-TimeSummary:Lead field service for commercial standby systems (10kW–2000kW). You'll diagnose complex issues, perform major repairs, and support 24/7 emergency response for mission-critical clients.Responsibilities:Advanced diagnostics: engine, controls, and electrical systemsMajor repairs/overhauls on diesel & natural gas unitsCommissioning, load bank testing, and performance verificationATS troubleshooting and integrationMentor junior techs; ensure quality and safety complianceManage service documentation and customer communicationParticipate in on-call rotationRequirements:Generator or related field service experienceStrong electrical troubleshooting (AC/DC, controls)Proficient reading schematics and OEM manualsValid driver's license; clean recordAbility to work independently in the fieldPreferred Not Required:OEM certifications (Cummins, Generac, Kohler, CAT)Experience with paralleling switchgear/controlsComp & Perks:Company vehicle, tools, and fuel cardPTO/holidaysCompany DescriptionSince our founding in 2011, we strive to bring close relationships and the attention to detail of a small business to your commercial power generation needs.
