Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range$130,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yrDirect message the job poster from EVONASenior Software Recruiter | Specialist in US Space Tech Talent ? | Trusted Partner to Top Aerospace Startups | Artist Liaison for World-Renowned…Software Engineer (Ground Software)- Onsite, Irvine, CAAre you excited by the idea of developing mission-critical software that powers cutting-edge space missions?A leading space technology company is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build scalable systems that enable satellite operations, mission control, and interplanetary exploration.This is a full-time, onsite role based in Irvine, CA, perfect for someone passionate about software engineering and space innovation.Due to the sensitivity of the work, this position requires onsite presence five days a week.As a Software Engineer, you will:Lead the full product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery, while setting the technical direction for the team.Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.Architect and develop mission-critical software systems, including Mission Control Systems (MCS) and advanced tools for space operations.Build and maintain scalable APIs and tools that enhance operations for subsystems and external customers.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and improve software products for evolving mission needs.Drive discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews to ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable systems.Deliver automation tools and intuitive interfaces to simplify complex workflows for real-world operators.What You'll Need:Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).2+ years of software development experienceExpertise in full-stack development and designing, building, and testing complex systems.Experience with cloud-native architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.Flexibility to be on call and work extended hours for mission-critical operations.Eligibility for Secret and/or TS/SCI clearance.Preferred Skills and Experience:Proficiency in Go Or RubyStrong background in API development using EchoFastAPIExpress, or FastifyExpertise in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) for schema design, complex queries, and performance tuning.Proven experience building and maintaining production-grade systems.Nice to Haves:Experience with Kubernetes and AWS EC2S3BatchLambdaFamiliarity with NoSQL databases like CouchbaseMongoDB, or CassandraExperience with data engineering and large-scale data pipelines.Passion for space exploration with involvement in the space industry or related fields.What You'll Get in Return:Competitive Salary $130,000 - $160,000 depending on seniority levelHealth CoverageComprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans.Retirement PlanAccess to a 401(k) with company matching.Paid Time OffGenerous vacation days, personal days, and holidays.Professional DevelopmentOpportunities for training, workshops, and courses.Inclusive CultureA diverse and welcoming environment with regular team-building activities.Are you ready to lead the development of next-generation space technology?
