Additional information can be found at lemanacademy.com.Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Scholar Success Facilitator is to work with scholars, parents, and related social service agencies to help Leman scholars achieve academic success. Counsel scholars and serve as the scholars' advocates. Additional functions include that of consultant, resource person, and community liaison. The Social Worker is competent in the areas of social work, counseling, and consultation. He/she demonstrates the ability to use counseling theory and conducts himself/herself in accordance with district and school policies. He/she possesses comprehensive knowledge of the community's social service agencies.Minimum Requirements, Education, and ExperienceCompleted Application (Required)Master's degree in social work or equivalent professional social work degree from an accredited graduate school of social work (ie. Family Counseling, Counseling, or Psychology) (1) years of employment as a school social worker and one (1) year of individual and group social work with children and familiesMust be knowledgeable about accessing community-based social services and resourcesWorking knowledge of the principles, practices and ethical standards of School Social Work; the relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations; and applicable district policies.
