Based in our Newport Beach, California office, the Senior Associate, Corporate Finance & Accounting will play a key role within the corporate finance and accounting team supporting both BKM Capital Partners and BKM Management Company.Reporting directly to Senior Management, this individual will take ownership of core corporate accounting and reporting processes, while contributing to more complex technical accounting, financial reporting, and operational initiatives. This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong Big 4 foundation who is looking to expand into a broader, high-impact role within a dynamic investment management platform.This role is 100% in-office due to the collaborative nature.The Job EssentialsReporting & AnalysisLead the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including internal management reporting and external stakeholder deliverablesPrepare and review detailed financial close packages, including variance analysis and executive-level commentary (MD&A)Oversee lender reporting requirements, including debt compliance packages, covenant calculations, and financing draw submissionsAnalyze corporate financial performance, including revenue streams, expense trends, and segment- level resultsPartner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiativesSupport tax compliance processes, including coordination with external advisors and preparation of supporting schedulesDrive improvements in reporting processes, including automation, standardization, and enhancement of data qualityLead ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic decision-makingAccountingOwn full-cycle accounting for corporate entities, including preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with GAAPReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure an accurate and timely closeOversee general ledger integrity, including maintenance of chart of accounts and consistency across entitiesLead technical accounting analysis and documentation for complex or non-routine transactionsCoordinate and support external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely deliverablesOversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring appropriate controls, accuracy, and efficiencyManage fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, and depreciation schedulesEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and best practicesOperations & Process ImprovementIdentify and implement process improvements across accounting, reporting, and operational workflowsSupport system optimization initiatives within Yardi and other financial systemsAssist in scaling corporate infrastructure to support firm growth, including integration of new entities or business linesMentor and provide guidance to junior team members, as applicableThe QualifierBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fieldCPA preferred3–6+ years of experience, with a strong preference for Big 4 public accounting experience and/or investment management or real estate industry experienceStrong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP) and financial reporting experienceExperience working with audits and external auditorsAdvanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysisExperience with Yardi Voyager or similar ERP systems preferredStrong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple prioritiesProactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownershipThe Perks:Competitive Pay + Bonus IncentiveMedical, Dental, Vision, Long Term Disability, Pet, and Life InsurancePaid Time Off401k Plan + MatchProfessional Development ResourcesFun Work Vibe (Indoor basketball/gym, creative office, team-building events, company training opportunities, and much more)
