In addition to golf, the Club features six red clay tennis courts, four pickleball courts, four platform tennis (paddle) courts, a croquet court, and a fitness center, as well as a variety of year-round social activities that foster a close-knit and welcoming community.The recently renovated Clubhouse serves as the centerpiece of the member experience, offering both casual and refined dining throughout the year along with a full calendar of social events and gatherings. The Club continues to evolve with intention, balancing its past with modern expectations to deliver a distinctive and enduring private club experience.Gross revenues total $6.7M with Food & Beverage accounting for $1.1M, of which 23% is generated from private events. There are 585 memberships.The PositionDorset Field Club is seeking an engaging and visible leader to oversee all Club operations and to partner with the Board in guiding the Club through its next chapter while retaining its valued culture and honoring its rich heritage and unique community. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact on one of the country’s most notable clubs.Reporting to the Club President and supported by a stable and dedicated Board of Governors, the General Manager will oversee several direct reports, including the Food & Beverage Director, Finance Director, Membership Director, Head Golf Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, and Head Racquets Professional.The General Manager is expected to elevate all aspects of the Member Experience by delivering consistent, high-quality service and programming. This includes strengthening organizational effectiveness as well as the coaching and development of the talented management team, with the aim of promoting a culture that supports accountability, retention, and long-term stability. The General Manager will apply industry best practices to support the growth and continued financial soundness of a thriving year-round operation. The ability to coordinate the development of operating, cash, and capital budgets that ensure the responsible use of Club funds and resources is key to the role.The candidateQualificationsThe ideal candidate will have at least five (5) years of GM or equivalent leadership experience in a high-end hospitality environment, preferably in a private golf or country club setting of similar scale and style. Experienced Assistant General Managers with a demonstrated track record of career progression will be considered.
