File Clerk - Immediate Part Time Position

Job Description The Hire Solution has partnered with a City Government organization is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused File Clerk to support daily records management operations and provide administrative assistance on a part time basis, Monday - Friday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing information requests, supporting court-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable records retention and public information regulations.The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of handling sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced public sector environment.Key ResponsibilitiesRecords Management & Data ProcessingMaintain, review, and process departmental records and reportsEnter, validate, and update information within internal systems and databasesAttach supporting documentation and ensure records are filed accurately and timelyPrepare, process, and maintain reports and departmental documentationCustomer Service & Public SupportRespond to public inquiries and assist customers with records-related requestsProcess open records requests in accordance with applicable regulations and proceduresProvide information and support to internal departments and staffRecommend appropriate courses of action regarding citizen requests and inquiriesAdministrative & Operational SupportAssist with maintaining records and documentation systemsSupport administrative and operational processes as neededEnsure compliance with records retention policies and public information requirementsPerform additional administrative duties and special projects as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior administrative, records management, customer service, or clerical experience preferredValid Texas Driver's License requiredAbility to obtain required state and departmental certifications within six (6) months of hireNotary Public Certification preferred or ability to obtainKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of records retention procedures and public information regulations preferredProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong data entry and organizational skills with high attention to detailAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public, coworkers, and city officialsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficientlyAbility to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriatelySchedule & Work EnvironmentPart-time, on-site positionSchedule: Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PMApproximately 20 hours per weekWork is performed in a professional office environmentPosition may occasionally require evening or weekend availability
