Purpose Of The PositionThe position will provide upcoming and recent sonography students with real-world experience with general, cardiac, and vascular ultrasound learning alongside and under the supervision of a highly experienced mentor. The Sonographer will gain essential work experience and training in performing quality diagnostic echocardiography examinations efficiently and accurately in patient care settings providing them the opportunity to demonstrate their value as future healthcare professionals.Essential FunctionsPerform echocardiography and general ultrasound examinations following established policy, procedure and risk management guidelines under the supervision of a staff Sonographers.Communicate specific problem areas regarding any procedures by obtaining a thorough patient history and sharing this information with the reading physician to ensure a quality diagnostic examination.Interact professionally with the reading physician and other medical staff to ensure the utmost quality diagnostic images.Communicate in a tactful and professional manner with patients and their families offering a complete and thorough explanation of the procedure being performed.Procure statistical information for daily activity sheet.Safely operate the ultrasound equipment and related instruments while following established protocols.Adhere to quality control and safety regulations as dictated by current established programs.Participate in quality assessment and improvement process to ensure optimum continuous quality improvement of care to the patient.Utilize training opportunities to become proficient in all modalities serviced by Catalyst MedTech (General, Vascular, Echo) with the expectation of obtaining relevant certifications within a timely manner, as supported by the company.Other duties as assigned by training Sonographer and/or Supervisor
