This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring trailers remain safe and roadworthy. Travel to customer locations or service sites may be required.ResponsibilitiesInspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, chassis, and transportation equipmentPerform preventive maintenance on brakes, suspension systems, wheel assemblies, lighting systems, and trailer componentsTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and structural issuesReplace damaged or worn parts including brake components, bearings, air lines, lights, mud flaps, and suspension partsConduct trailer inspections to ensure compliance with DOT and company safety standardsPerform welding, fabrication, and minor structural repairs as neededUse hand tools, power tools, air tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectivelyMaintain accurate service records and repair documentationAssist with emergency repairs and service calls when requiredKeep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulationsCommunicate with supervisors, drivers, and customers regarding repair status and maintenance needsQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrevious experience in trailer repair, fleet maintenance, diesel mechanics, or a related mechanical field preferredKnowledge of trailer brake systems, air systems, suspension systems, lighting, and DOT regulationsExperience with welding, fabrication, and trailer structural repairs preferredStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic toolsAbility to lift heavy components and work in shop and outdoor environmentsValid driver's license preferredStrong communication and teamwork skillsDependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to safety, quality workmanship, and preventative maintenance practicesCandidates already registered with us, please send an updated resume to interviews@lpcpersonnel.com and reference the job title.
