At Valley Regional Hospital, patients are the center of our coordinated care system and right now we have an opening for a pharmacy technician to join our team.
The primary responsibility of Pharmacy Tech is:
Prepares intravenous solutions and admixtures; must be able to identify variations in medication dosage forms, volume and dosing
Maintains inventory and billing related to medications and related supplies
Stocks automated dispensing machines and delivers medications throughout VRH and its satellite locations
Aids in training new employees
Participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement and CQI activities
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/ healthcare errors.
Complies with rules, regulations and procedures to help maintain a clean and safe pharmacy, such as by sterilizing equipment and surfaces
An ideal candidate would have the following qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred
One (1) year related pharmacy experience preferred
High integrity, able to follow procedures
Ability to be a self-motivated learner
Exhibits professionalism at all times
