Java Developer

We are seeking a Java Developer to support the continued development, enhancement, and maintenance of mission-critical enterprise applications used in aerospace and engineering environments. This role is part of a collaborative software development team responsible for delivering reliable, scalable solutions that support long-standing operational systems.The ideal candidate will have experience developing and maintaining enterprise Java applications, working within an Agile team environment, and contributing across the full software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.This position involves working within a mature, long-running application environment while also supporting ongoing modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.Developers spend the majority of their time designing, coding, testing, debugging, and supporting software solutions, with additional responsibilities for documentation, collaboration, and continuous learning.NOTE: This position requires access to technologies and hardware subject to U.S. export control requirements. Company sponsorship is not available for this position.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with software developers, engineers, and stakeholders to implement and support software solutionsDesign, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applicationsContribute throughout all phases of the software development lifecycleWrite clean, maintainable, efficient, and testable codeTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issuesCreate and maintain technical documentation for software design, implementation, and testingEnsure software solutions comply with established coding, quality, security, and performance standardsParticipate in code reviews, testing activities, and release processesDevelop and maintain automated unit tests and system-level test scripts to validate application functionality and support release activitiesDevelop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the software development lifecycle, including requirements, design documentation, test plans, test results, and other formal project deliverablesSupport and enhance existing legacy applications while contributing to modernization effortsParticipate in Agile/Scrum team activities including sprint planning, standups, and retrospectivesContinuously improve technical knowledge and development practicesRequired QualificationsEducation & Experience• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical field with 3+ years of recent software development experience or equivalent work experience.Technical ExperienceExperience with:Java enterprise application developmentObject-oriented programming principles and software design practicesExperience developing applications against Oracle databases, including SQL and PL/SQLSource control systems such as Git or SVNEnterprise development environments and IDEsSoftware testing and debugging techniquesWorking in collaborative Agile development environmentsExperience with Maven or other Java build automation toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following is preferred:Test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration, refactoring, and pair programmingUnit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, JaCoCo, JMockit, or EasyMockJava application servers and enterprise deployment environmentsLegacy enterprise application support and modernization effortsC#/.NET development experienceASP.NET, MVC, or Entity Framework experienceExperience working in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated technical industriesAbility to quickly learn complex engineering concepts and effectively communicate with technical stakeholders and client engineering teamsExperienced in SDLC documentation technical writingAdditional RequirementsMust be willing and able to pass a background investigation and drug screeningMust successfully complete required legal/compliance screening processesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and within a team environmentWork EnvironmentThis role supports long-standing enterprise systems that are critical to customer operations and engineering activities.
