Facility Security Officer
Position Summary
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of the company’s security program in accordance with applicable federal security requirements, including the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) when applicable.
The FSO serves as the primary authority for facility security, personnel security coordination, and security compliance, ensuring the company maintains eligibility and readiness for government contracts requiring security controls or classified handling requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Security Program Administration
Develop and maintain company security policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Ensure compliance with federal security requirements and contract-specific security provisions.
Maintain security documentation and records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Implement corrective actions resulting from inspections or audits.
2. Facility Security Management
Establish and oversee physical security controls for company facilities.
Manage access control procedures and visitor management processes.
Coordinate facility security assessments and improvements.
3. Personnel Security Coordination
Coordinate personnel security requirements where applicable.
Maintain security eligibility and training records.
Conduct initial and recurring security briefings and debriefings as required.
4. Security Training & Awareness
Develop and administer employee security awareness training.
Maintain records of required training and certifications.
Promote security awareness across company operations.
5. Government Security Liaison
Serve as the primary point of contact with government security representatives.
Support security inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
Report security incidents in accordance with federal requirements.
6. Information & Operational Security Support
Coordinate with IT and operations personnel to ensure protection of sensitive information.
Support implementation of information security controls where required by contract.
Required Qualifications
U.S. citizenship.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance if required.
Knowledge of security program administration or regulatory compliance.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as an FSO or Assistant FSO.
Familiarity with NISPOM, DCSA processes, or federal security compliance.
Experience supporting federal contracts or regulated environments.
Experience developing security SOPs and compliance programs.

Compensation will be based on experience, clearance status (if applicable), and market benchmarks consistent with FAR reasonableness standards for federal contractors.
Authority Statement
The Facility Security Officer has authority to enforce company security policies and regulatory requirements necessary to maintain contract eligibility and regulatory compliance.
