Patent Prosecution Attorney (Fully Remote)About the roleWe’re hiring an experienced Patent Prosecution Attorney to help procure patents across the U.S., Europe, and Asia for premium corporate clients. You’ll own matters from invention harvesting through allowance, coordinating directly with inventors, in-house counsel, and foreign associates.Key responsibilitiesDraft and prosecute U.S. utility (and occasional design) applications; develop claim strategy aligned with product and business goalsPrepare responses to §§101/102/103/112, conduct examiner interviews, and handle after-final practice and appealsManage multi-jurisdictional filings (PCT, EP, JP, CN, KR): instruct foreign associates, review search/exam reports, and recommend response strategies tailored to each officeBuild continuation/divisional strategy; manage IDS, restriction/election practice, and clean dockets with on-time deliveryPerform patentability and landscape analyses; contribute to FTO/clearance and occasional validity/infringement assessmentsCollaborate with client R&D and product teams; lead invention harvesting sessions and portfolio planningQualificationsJ.D. and admission to at least one U.S. state bar (good standing)USPTO registration (Attorney)5+ years of hands-on patent prosecution experienceDegree in electronics, software, controls, or electro-mechanical engineering (or closely related field) strongly preferredProven excellence in legal writing and advocacy, with a track record of high-quality specs/claims and efficient OA practiceExperience coordinating prosecution across IP5 jurisdictions and PCT practiceStrong client communication, project management, and attention to detailNice to haveExperience with medical devices, robotics/automation, embedded systems, or cloud/distributed softwarePrior work on opinions (patentability, invalidity, FTO) and transaction diligenceFamiliarity with Patent Center/PAIR, ePCT, and common prior-art databasesWhat we offerFully remote position with flexible hoursCompetitive compensation and bonus potential, full benefits, CLE/OED fees coveredHigh-impact work for sophisticated, global clients and support from an experienced prosecution team
