Receptionist

West Street Dog is a unique small business that is the first of it's kind in downtown Raleigh! We offer doggy daycare, overnight boarding for dogs and cats, as well as a full-service bar and a fully-indoor off leash dog park and bar. We are looking to add a dedicated team member to our front desk crew! While the main responsibilities for our front desk staff involve working with customers, answering phone calls and emails, and record-keeping, you will also be expected to help with the hands-on tasks involved with taking care of the animals in our facility. To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes, as well as taking care of reception-type duties throughout the day. Our goal as a business is to offer top-notch care for all of the animals in our facility, and to ensure our customers have the most pleasant and professional experience possible. If you do not have experience working with animals professionally, that is not a deal breaker! We are happy to train someone who is willing to learn and can take instruction. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Must love dogs and cats! - Greeting all customers in a friendly manner when they walk in our door. - Communicating professionally with customers via phone calls, emails, and direct messages through our app. - Being knowledgeable on regular customers and dogs. - Receiving a dog or cat from the owner and ensuring they are put into the proper area swiftly and safely. - Cleaning the front lobby and cat boarding area multiple times a day. -Can lift at least 50 pounds. -This is a physical job that will require you to be on your feet for most of the day. - Putting on a variety or collars, harnesses, and leashes on dogs and bringing them from the daycare area to the customer in the lobby (we are happy to train on this!). Experience working with dogs is preferred, but not required! *A reliable form of transportation is a MUST. * Due to ABC laws, we can only hire people who are at least 18 years of age. *You must be available to work holidays and weekends when needed. *Please note that we do have a large set of stairs in our facility, so applicants need to be comfortable going up and down the stairs multiple times a day.
