No Corp-to-Corp The GIS Coordinator conducts planning and surveillance activities related to the measurement and visualization of communicable diseases, health conditions, health resources/accessibility, and public health preparedness activities. Complete Description: Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Regularly engage with stakeholders and partners across the organization, other agencies, state/local health departments, the private sector, and other relevant entitiesManage GIS team project work deliverables and deadlines using project management skills (communication, organization, metric tracking, etc.)Serve as team leader/point of contact for the public health geographics function within the data products programUtilize data governance best practices, especially those related to GIS productsFamiliarity with how to utilize GeoAI (or ability to learn the skill)Provide geostatistical analysis, measurements, or reports related to communicable disease surveillance, outbreaks, disasters, and public health preparedness activitiesCreate and maintain visualizations of data and statistical resultsCreate and maintain accurate geospatial datasetsDevelop and maintain workflows that integrate datasets and automate analytical methodsDevelop web-based applications utilizing both configurable services and customized developmentUtilize appropriate geographic information system software and other statistical packagesProvide recommendations to supervisors and developers regarding data workflow methodologyAssist with emergency operations/logistical support when activatedOther duties as assigned Required Skills & Experience:Knowledge of geospatial concepts - 2 yearsKnowledge of appropriate cartographic designs and solutions - 2 yearsExperience with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software - 2 yearsExperience with ESRI ArcGIS Software as a Service platform and configurable applications - 2 yearsExperience with Python, ArcGIS API for Python, ArcPy, and other data science packages, including web automation and scraping capabilities - 2 yearsExperience with JavaScript and ArcGIS JavaScript API - 2 yearsKnowledge of SQL within Oracle and SQL Server platforms - 2 yearsManagerial/supervisory experience within a health-related field, data/technology-related field, or another comparable field - 4 yearsAbility to engage with stakeholders and partners across multiple agencies and sectors - 2 yearsProject management skills (communication, organization, metric tracking) - 2 yearsExperience with data governance best practices (GIS-specific data governance) - 2 years Nice to Have:Experience with GeoAI - 1 year
