Summary
Collaborate with internal customers and suppliers to develop and document component and detail design efforts for complex mechanical and electrical systems
Develop system requirements using analytical and technical expertise while maintaining schedule and cost objectives
Create design solutions utilizing model-based engineering software and numerical analysis tools
Lead and coordinate cross‑functional technical activities with teams including:
Manufacturing
Crew Operations (Crew Ops)
Airplane Safety
Supply Chain Management
Systems Software Teams
Suppliers
Airline Customers
Regulatory Agencies
Interfacing engineering teams
Identify problems, perform root cause corrective analysis , and implement corrective actions
Provide responsive support to the factory and flight line to resolve emergent production issues
Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Specification Control Documents/Drawings (SCDs)
Develop system requirements and design considerations supporting:
Data reliability and integrity
Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
System Safety Analysis (SSA)
Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware/software designs, and interface specifications
Apply structured problem‑solving methodologies to identify and resolve technical issues
Monitor supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements
Support fielded hardware and software across the entire product lifecycle
Research emerging technologies for potential application to business needs
Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
2+ years of related engineering experience
Experience with:
PDM (Product Data Management)
CATIA
ENOVIA
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering
