Project Manager - Commercial Electrical
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.You will work closely with field teams, general contractors, and internal departments to deliver large, complex healthcare and institutional projects on time and within budget. This role offers strong internal support from estimating, BIM, and leadership teams, while still requiring ownership of project performance and profitability.ResponsibilitiesLead commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completionManage field execution, coordinating electricians, foremen, subcontractors, and internal teamsWork directly with general contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders to drive schedules and resolve issuesReview and interpret electrical drawings, specs, and construction documentsOversee project schedules, RFIs, change orders, and cost trackingCollaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams on scope alignment and project setupPartner with BIM teams to ensure design intent translates into field executionMonitor project profitability, identify risks, and implement solutionsMaintain accurate project documentation and reporting in internal systemsRequirements5+ years of commercial electrical project management experienceBackground with an electrical contractor (not general contractor-only or residential)Experience managing projects in the $3M-$15M+ range preferredStrong understanding of full project lifecycle (scheduling, change orders, field coordination, GC interaction)Experience with healthcare, hospital, university, or institutional projects is a strong plusAbility to read and interpret electrical drawings and specificationsExperience with Bluebeam, AcuBid, or similar tools preferredProven project ownership and execution experience (not just coordination roles)BenefitsBase Salary: $125,000 - $140,000 (based on experience)Potential for BonusHealth InsuranceRetirement Plan OptionsPaid Time OffAdditional Benefits Sponsored by the Company
