The firm was founded in 2011 and employs 15 professionals across offices in New York City and Charleston, South Carolina.Data Analysis & Portfolio Operations InternWe are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented intern (Class of 2026 Preferred) to support our Operations function during a period of infrastructure modernization and team expansion. This role will focus on strengthening data integrity, enhancing reporting workflows, supporting automation initiatives, and contributing to investment analytics across the firm.This is an in-person role based in our Midtown Manhattan office, starting ASAP.Role ContextThe intern will contribute to several high-impact initiatives, including:• Centralized training and documentation architecture• Daily transaction reconciliation automation• Wire process digitization and tracking• SharePoint migration and structured taxonomy implementation• Development of a centralized data layer across systems• Management fee automation and validation enhancementsKey Responsibilities• Map and validate data flows between Addepar, accounting systems, and custodians• Maintain structured valuation and NAV tracking datasets• Support automation of recurring reporting workflows using Excel and automation tools• Perform recurring data integrity checks and escalate inconsistencies• Assist with LP NAV reconciliation and performance data aggregation• Support development of internal dashboards and portfolio summaries• Document operational workflows and contribute to training materials• Assist in digitizing approval processes and supporting centralized tracking systemsQualifications• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, structured data organization)• High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking• Experience with Power Query, Power BI, Python, or automation tools is a plusWhat We Offer•Hourly compensation•Defined pathway to full-time employment for exceptional performance•Meaningful ownership over real operational and AI initiatives•Weekly team lunchCover LetterPlease submit a cover letter along with your application, addressing the below prompt: Describe a messy, manual, or inefficient process you encountered (in school, work, or personal life).How did you analyze it, what did you change (if anything), and what would you automate if given more time and tools?Please be specific about your reasoning and forward your application documents to maria@permcap.com
